Why might 'St Cuthbert's cross' have been hidden during the Reformation?
So I am trying to work out if the gold and garnet Anglo-Saxon cross found in the principal grave of Durham Cathedral in 1827 could possibly be the Black Rood of Scotland - part of the Scottish crown jewels that went missing in the Cathedral during the Reformation.
